The new Accuphase E-280 employs the latest AAVA volume control system and attains 12% lower noise performance. The power module section which adopts the contactless MOS-FET switches represent a damping factor of 500. Two options boards can be added for improved expandability, from the analogue records to the High resolution digital sources, E-280 allows audiophiles to give a direct access to every music source. The evolved E-280 is irreplaceable to all music lovers with its magnificent technology philosophy of higher grade models.

The Concept is a complete turntable package - turntable, arm and cartridge. It will however not make music on its own, it requires an audio system which most music enthusiasts will own. The AT-OC9XSH is a premium moving coil phono cartridge with a 2.7 x 0.26 mil Shibata stylus. The OC9X range features a new Dual Moving Coil structure, which enables the audio information in the record grooves to be separated to the left and right channels with pinpoint accuracy. This improved channel separation results in a more precise stereo image and wider frequency response. The moving coil wires in all OC9X Series cartridges are made from PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting), for optimum signal purity.

The AT-OC9XSH utilises a neodymium magnet with a Permendur yoke, a configuration that provides high-saturation magnetic flux density and optimises the concentrated magnetic field of the coil gap, for improved reproduction of the delicate musical signals generated by the cartridges. This Shibata stylus model has been upgraded with a boron cantilever carefully selected to keep unwanted vibrations to a minimum and reduce internal resonances for clearer, more detailed audio reproduction.

Fifty years is a long long time in audio history. Accuphase started life in 1972 and within a year they had moved into their purpose built Yokohama factory, a building they still occupy. Three months later the first models emerged, the P-300, C-200 and T-100. All these models are famous, sought after and most are still giving faithful service. Indeed Revolution Turntable have the T-100 and the first Integrated, the E-202 (1974) as working demonstration units in our boutique! Many famous marques are still in existence but few if any can trace their ownership, location and importantly, manufacturing culture and philosophy, back to the very first day they started.

To mark and celebrate fifty productive years, Accuphase have embarked on a series of Anniversary models. This fabulous C-3900 precision stereo preamp is in fact the second to emerge, the first was the equally fabulous E-800 Class A Integrated tour-de-force. A force so irresistible that Pierre, our intrepid leader, is in love! There is more, although not heralded as an anniversary model, the new ground breaking C-47 is worthy of sharing the anniversary podium as a truly high end phono preamplifier.
