The new C-2300 is an entirely new model that integrates the C2000 series, the standard for separate systems, and the C-2400 series, which has gained tremendous support from music lovers as a middle-class pre-main amplifier.

C-2300 has the "Balanced AAVA" volume control circuitry in the higher-end C-2900. In addition to the low and high frequencies, a new 4-band tone control allows adjusting the mid-low and mid-high frequencies, providing greater flexibility in adjusting the bandwidth balance. Expandability is also enhanced with two slots for the AD-60 Phono equalizer board and the DAC-60 Digital input board, making it compatible with various sound sources.

Did you know Accuphase is 50? No probably not. Accuphase has has been beavering away for half a century, with the same management, same factory and, most importantly, the same company mission. In a nutshell and in my own words: To build the highest quality Audio products in the service of Music. I used my own words because Accuphase have committed their corporate motto and company stance to print. Please have a wander about their demure website and dig out these gems to discover the real reason why most Accuphase owners are "rusted on".

Without even a whisper, Accuphase are celebrating by presenting us with a range of "50th Anniversary" models. Four are natural evolutionary upgrades of existing models. The flagship pre amplifier C-3900, flagship power amplifier A-xxx, flagship transport DP-1000 and flagship processor DC-1000 get this treatment.

The greatest surprise is a pair of totally new integrated models. The New flagship Class A called E-800 was the first off the line and has been a outstanding success at least here at Revolution turntable and throughout Australia. And now the new flagship Class AB integrated, called the E-5000, is here to put to bed any ideas that integrated amplifiers don't have what it takes to drive hungry speaker systems. This machine combines the precision front end of their pre amplifiers with 240watts per channel of speaker gripping horsepower.

Since 1974, starting with the venerable and famous E-202 Integrated, Accuphase have had a strong line up of integrated machines. Now in their 50th year, they have backed up with two fabulous new creations, both Integrated Amplifiers! We have one on demo and will have the other as soon as possible.

Accuphase are not calling this newly minted C-2900 precision pre amplifier a member of their 50th Anniversary club. Inexplicable I know because this fabulous machine is second only to the superb flagship C-3900. Bettered only by the smallest of margins and significantly more affordable too. Indeed I am going to pronounce the C-2900 the flagship pre amplifier that can accept an internal fully featured and configurable MM/MC phono stage, called the AD-2900.

Since launching the revolutionary DG-28 in 1997, the DG series, which combines sound field correction (Voicing) and sound field creation (Equalising) functions, has been pursuing the ease of use and high electrical performance. DG-68 is a successor of DG-58, released in 2013, adopting the latest devices and further improving AD-DA conversion accuracy. In VOICING mode, the DG-68 measures room acoustics accurately and eliminates extreme dips and peaks such as standing waves. This improves the localisation of vocals and the expansion of sound stage dramatically. In addition to automatic adjustment of target characteristics, it is also possible to draw desired target curve in the manual mode or to correct room acoustics according to the customer’s own loud speakers. Fifty years is a long long time in audio history. Accuphase started life in 1972 and within a year they had moved into their purpose built Yokohama factory, a building they still occupy. Three months later the first models emerged, the P-300, C-200 and T-100. All these models are famous, sought after and most are still giving faithful service. Indeed Revolution Turntable have the T-100 and the first Integrated, the E-202 (1974) as working demonstration units in our boutique! Many famous marques are still in existence but few if any can trace their ownership, location and importantly, manufacturing culture and philosophy, back to the very first day they started.

To mark and celebrate fifty productive years, Accuphase have embarked on a series of Anniversary models. This fabulous C-3900 precision stereo preamp is in fact the second to emerge, the first was the equally fabulous E-800 Class A Integrated tour-de-force. A force so irresistible that Pierre, our intrepid leader, is in love! There is more, although not heralded as an anniversary model, the new ground breaking C-47 is worthy of sharing the anniversary podium as a truly high end phono preamplifier.

The Ultimate Phono Pre amplifier? Accuphase have nailed their colours firmly to the mast with this unit. With the C-47, the marque has bestowed deep respect for the venerable vinyl recording format, whilst simultaneously mastering the vitally important first stage of amplification and equalisation. This machine has everything a vinyl enthusiast may need and want. Fully mono, fully balanced and fully adjustable. All adjustments are from the front and there are a total of four inputs - multi arm turntable owners can go nuts. Importantly the balanced input is truly balanced and correctly configured for moving coil only. Accuphase simply do not do this often, that is, introduce a totally new product. The all new E-800 takes it's place alongside the C-3850, A-250 and DC/DP-950 as the Precision flagship model in the already impressive line line up. As desirable as this new machine may be, we should perhaps take a moment to reflect on the Anniversary aspect.

Fifty years is a long long time in audio history. Sure we still have many of the famous marques, Krell, Levinson, Audio Research, Luxman, Marantz and so on, the list is extensive. But few if any can trace their ownership, location and importantly, manufacturing culture and philosophy, as a single unbroken steadfast thread to the very first day the Institution "Accuphase" was born.

For those readers who may wonder about the Accuphase mystique and whether it is justified. I would suggest a visit to the Accuphase website and peruse the company philosophy manifesto. In a nutshell, the brand is simply uninterested and therefore untroubled with growth, outside shareholders, changing fashions and new technologies (streaming) until the technology in question is mature and 100% reliable.

Accuphase really only have two masters. Firstly they are a slave to the appreciation of the musical art form. After all that is the function of the equipment, to deliver music in the finest manner possible. The second master is that of craftsmanship and again, the finest quality possible, that music enthusiasts, like you and I, might aspire to.

The all new E-800 Class A Precision Integrated Stereo Amplifier sets a benchmark that most others can only dream about.
