Phono Box S was one of our favourite products, it offered unrivalled sonics and versitality at a very affordable price. When we started creating Phono Box S2, its successor, it had to have exactly that but improve on sound even further. Phono Box S2 fea-tures incredible micro-details, dynamics and precision with a soundstage usually found in much more expensive products. The new S2 style housing is made of an aluminium/metal sandwich construction and not only offers highest aesthetics but also out-standingly protects it from unwanted electromagnetic interferences and vibrations. Introducing Audio-Technica’s new AT-OC9XEB cartridge.
The AT-OC9XEB is a premium moving coil phono cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil Elliptical Bonded stylus. The OC9X range features a new Dual Moving Coil structure, which enables the audio information in the record grooves to be separated to the left and right channels with pinpoint accuracy. This improved channel separation results in a more precise stereo image and wider frequency response. The moving coil wires in all OC9X Series cartridges are made from PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting), for optimum signal purity.

...when we took the prototypes to various dealers for their comments and input. One in particular would not believe that it could match the somewhat thicker more expensive cable in his demonstration system. We sat down and listened to some of his familiar music tracks, then we swapped the cable for Tellurium Q Black. He sat forward, looked at us and quite seriously asked what else we had done to his system while we were changing the cables over. It was only when he swapped the cables himself a couple of times he believed the evidence of his ears.
So why Black II? Despite Black winning multiple awards, surprising owners with it’s performance and more people than ever choosing to use it in their systems? We have been learning and developing, especially in the last few years and have come up with a way to make this little gem even better. The only thing to do was to give it to our customers. The Parasound Zphono is an well thought out entry phono stage. Single ended (RCA) inputs and outputs, able to handle both MM and MC cartridges. Unusual for an entry level phono stage is the lack of the wall wart power supply. This unit takes it's power full strength, via the usual IEC socket. A reversible AC polarity switch helps with any system miss-match that can induce mains hum.
