• Accuphase OFC Balanced Interconnect

    ALC-30 (3 metre)

The Accuphase Oxygen-Free Copper Series cables use a densely braided outer conductor of oxygen-free copper, reliably shielding the two twisted internal conductors also made of highly pure copper. The result is a high-quality cable with negligible transfer losses and excellent resistance to induced noise. The superb performance of these cables ensures that the sonic character of top-quality audio components connected in a system is fully preserved. Listeners are able to enjoy utterly natural, well-balanced sound that gives free expression to the full musical spectrum.

  •  Mains Conditioner and Voltage Regulator

One has to go back in time a very long way to experience recorded audio without the benefit of electrical power. Indeed electrical power is fundamental to every home audio system, in our opinion only second in importance to the actual recorded music, and then only by a small margin. What most people fail to realize is that the energy that flows from a wall socket is really a "Power Signal". This power signal should be 50Hz and this figure is well within the Audio band. The nature of our power generation, distribution grid and varied load characteristics results in a horribly polluted 50Hz Power Signal. Additionally this signal is actually altered by the huge number of power factor modifying loads it is required to drive. This polluted and corrupted power can easily, and usually does, adversely effect the quality of audio a system can deliver. There are solutions and the Torus Power TOT AVR voltage regulator and conditioner is one worthy example.

The TOT AVR will not only clean much of the harmful noise from the power supply, it will also provide a measure of voltage regulation. The heart of the unit is a large toroidal isolation transformer and this also contributes to the marques name "Torus". Suitable for small to medium sized systems and equally suited to Audio as well as Video systems.

  • The Clearaudio Innovation Compact

Ticket to the top of the world

The Innovation Compact turntable with its very efficient design is nothing less than an audiophile revelation. Thanks to optical speed control (OSC), speed stability values are obtained that lift this turntable into the global high end class.

Perfectly matched materials meet patented Clearaudio technology. The 70mm-thick platter of the Innovation Compact consists of dynamically balanced polyoxymethylene (POM) and is powered by a high-torque DC motor with precision bearings, developed exclusively for Clearaudio.

The optimally designed chassis keeps resonances out of the audible range and guarantees maximum stability in a housing made of a massive panzerholz (bullet proof wood) and aluminium sandwich. Timeless design with quality built to last for decades. To enhance flexibility the Innovation Compact has the option to mount a second tone arm, making it possible to play a rich variety of music from across the decades.

  • The Clearaudio Innovation

In the world of turntable construction the Innovation is the ultimate technological prototype.

The goal of high-end analogue is to perfectly merge technology, workmanship and design and subordinate them to one single target: the best possible music reproduction. At Clearaudio, all development, design and production remain firmly in the hands of a perfectly experienced and attuned team of specialists who never lose sight of that goal, and who uphold the Clearaudio philosophy and high quality standards.

From the tiniest part to the full audiophile 'Gesamtkunstwerk' (a complete work of art that draws on many art forms), at Clearaudio everything is meticulously made by hand – with maximum precision and plenty of passion. Precision-crafted mechanics and the use of components fine-tuned for density, mass and shape guarantee mechanical harmony and the absence of resonance when playing records.

The ingredients are high-density multi-layered wood, titanium, stainless steel V2A, aluminium and specially developed high-performance plastics. Two parameters are of critical importance: maximum performance of music playback and technically effective design, as well as the aesthetic beauty of our creations.

  •  Clearaudio Clarify - Smooth Pleasure

This Clearaudio innovation transmits even tiny signals without any interference and remains absolutely unaffected by resonances. If mechanical parts do not touch, there can be no friction. The Clarify tone arm uses magnetic bearings and is therefore completely frictionless.

The Clarify can be used with virtually all cartridges with a weight from 2.5 to 19 grams, but reaches its maximum performance potential and richest sound when combined with the Ovation turntable and a Clearaudio moving coil (MC) cartridge.

  • High performance in a nutshell

Here at Clearaudio, we have developed new and better ways of satisfying the audiophile's needs. We offer an unparalleled selection of the three main types of tone arms: single point bearing radial, multi-point bearing radial and tangential tone arms. Our range of tone arms features many cutting-edge technologies, including several Clearaudio patented designs. Even the radial tone arms deliver ground breaking technology and include many patented systems such as our cutting-edge magnetic bearings, as well as precision ball-race, unipivot, gimbal, and hybrid bearings.

The Unify tone arm represents the summit of unipivot radial tone arms, and stands out not only for its elegant looks. This exceptional tone arm is available in 9, 10 and 12-inch lengths and in both black and silver liveries.
  • Moving Coil

Once you get bitten by the Vinyl bug and start to embrace the wonderful world of analogue playback you will discover that Turntables are, an assembly of three separate devices, namely the turntable, tonearm and cartridge. As the quality of the equipment increases you will also discover that these parts are usually interchangeable and upgradable. None more so than the cartridge, the smallest part but the most influential in terms of sound quality, providing of course that the table and arm are modestly competent.

Moving coil cartridges have always been considered exotic and desired by enthusiasts. Why, simple physics really. The stylus picks up the modulations in the groove, transmits them up the cantilever where, it must articulate either a magnet (MM cartridge) or a coil (MC cartridge) to generate the electrical signal. Now, a finely wound coil is much lighter than a hunk of magnet hence the stylus tracks better and easier, the cantilever flexes less and the coils generate a superior signal. Like I said simple physics really. So why then do we have moving magnet cartridges? Again not rocket science, they are cheaper to make, a lot more robust, easier to use and resistant to abuse. These reasons make the MM cartridge standard for entry level systems and need not be dismissed as within these constraints there are fine and worthy examples.

Moving Coils are the holy grail then and this always comes at a cost, usually MC cartridges are north of a thousand dollars, (there are several notable exceptions, Denon DL-103 and Audiotechnica OC9-III for example). Until now! Hana MC cartridges, made by Excel Sound Corporation (Japan) have shattered this price point. Both Elliptical and Shibata versions versions are available in both high and low output configurations making for an easy match for any phono stage. The EL and EH both are priced at an affordable $755.00 making this well reviewed device a must audition for anyone moving up in the listening stakes.

We have one on demo come in for a listen!

  • The Ultimate British Monitor

Sometimes, just sometimes, we modern humans are guilty of huberous. It seems that everything needs to be the latest, glossiest and most techno fashionable, to be be desirable today and then throw-away-able tomorrow! This of course blinds us to to a few fundamental facts. Truly competent amplifiers were developed a hundred years ago and there is a reason why we used to make all those rectangular stand mount boxy speakers in the 1960s-1970s.

Don't take my word for it!  please read the review via the link on this listing. This classic large stand mounted loudspeaker simply sounds wonderful. And whilst sound quality should be foremost in any speaker evaluation, we just love the slab sided, in your face retro look of these monitors. Take a closer look and you will see real state of the art, driver and crossover technology. Once satisfied that the components are high quality, take a look at the beautifully applied real wood timber veneer and highly polished finish.

Harbeth's Super HL5plus XD, driven correctly, produces a huge sound stage of width, depth and weight for a total immersion in the musical performance. We were blown away!

  • The Response D48 was designed and built to replace ProAc previous flagship floorstander, the Response D40. By any measure this must have been a huge challenge as the D40 achieved cult status during it's production run. ProAc doesn't introduce new models just for fun or fashion, so the new D48R can be considered a totally new design. Indeed all it shares with the D40 is the cabinet size and the Brand name!

The Ribbon tweeter is a standout but the changes and improvements do not end there. The Mid/bass drivers are also a new ProAc design and likewise the crossover, designed by Stewart Tyler and assembled using the finest components.

So like the D40 but better. A more expansive soundstage, more detailed midrange with smoother more extended frequency response. The bass is tighter and even more tuneful. A worthy successor.
