In 1991 Pro-Ject started a revolution in Hi Fi with the introduction of the Pro-Ject 1 turntable. A new high-end, low budget turntable at a time when CD was king. Against all odds, we were creating interest in analogue audio at a time when others were turning their backs, and the success was only down to three critical philosophies:

The Innovation Compact turntable with its very efficient design is nothing less than an audiophile revelation. Thanks to optical speed control (OSC), speed stability values are obtained that lift this turntable into the global high end class.
Perfectly matched materials meet patented Clearaudio technology. The 70mm-thick platter of the Innovation Compact consists of dynamically balanced polyoxymethylene (POM) and is powered by a high-torque DC motor with precision bearings, developed exclusively for Clearaudio.
The optimally designed chassis keeps resonances out of the audible range and guarantees maximum stability in a housing made of a massive panzerholz (bullet proof wood) and aluminium sandwich. Timeless design with quality built to last for decades. The Concept is a complete turntable package - turntable, arm and cartridge. It will however not make music on its own, it requires an audio system which most music enthusiasts will own. We are more than happy and able to help and advise anyone new and unfamiliar to the wonderful world of analogue vinyl record playback. The AT-LP7 builds on this heritage. Recognising the critical role a cartridge plays in reproducing high-fidelity audio from vinyl, we designed this fully manual, belt-drive turntable around our VM cartridge line, incorporating the finest materials and structures in support of the cartridge’s performance. The AT-LP7 comes with a VM520EB Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge with a 10 g AT-HS10 headshell and 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical bonded stylus. That stylus can be replaced with any of the other six styli available in the VM line, giving users an easy means of upgrading the stylus without buying a whole new cartridge.

Hallelujah, Finally, someone has decided to re-release one of the most useful and desirable turntable accessorys known to humankind. 99.99% of proper turntables these days are manual devices. That means at the end of playing a side, one must get up and manually lift off the playing arm. There are reasons for this. The mechanics and electronics needed to achieve "auto stop" will invariably impinge on the sound quality of even the most modest turntable, let alone premium examples.
Problem is, after being drawn into a wonderful passage music, whether classical. rock, blues, motown, country, folk or whatever, one is unlikely to be in a conducive state to spring out of ones chair. Add to that the audio enhancing effects of that wonderful audio tweek otherwise known as vino, beer and spirit then the needle may just stay in the run out grooves for a bit (lot) longer!!
